Programme/design formats - unit 5. 2 - short film
Metamorphia
Programme/design
formats
Unit
5 .2
Metamorphia
will be made into short film format at the maximum length of 4
minutes it will incorporate a very basic story/narrative as the aim
length is 4 minutes or less and I don't want to try and introduce to
much character or story identification without being able to resolve
it at the end.
The
film has already been planned out to ensure it fits the requirements
of the brief [Inspire film festival], the film will be placed into
the short drama category and will be feasible for all other
requirements such as 16:9 format aspect ratio, ethical acceptance and
fully completed.
Evaluation
against requirements and constraints
Unit
5 .2
I
have evaluated all possible requirements I have have made my response
to the brief very precise to what was asked to be done.
Such
as: making my response a short film, ensuring it is in the English
language, not including sexual content, strong language or explicit
violence.
I
have made my script very clear that all the things I have included
are feasible for entry into the festival.

Music video - Why Videos 'essay' - Unit 29 .1
Why videos
Unit 29 .1
What music videos are
Music videos serve as short film sequences designed to enhance the experience of hearing music by adding a second sense; sight. They both influence eachother by intertwining together to use eachothers strengths to help tell a story, much like how feature films would. Although different from feature films, music videos don't primarily focus on character development or the slow unveiling of a story. Music videos aim for instant gratification to please the audience, titillating their emotions with fast moving cuts, using images which will give a fast emotional response {largely used in pop music culture in the form of 'sex'.} and using the lyrics to influence visual metaphors for the audience to reveal with their own minds.
Why videos
The video side of the music business has enabled a multiple array of factors for the industry to grow of on.
The first being able to promote a artist further more over a range of platforms such as TV, theaters, VHS & now DVD, Internet or On demand (iTunes/Windows media center). Primarily music videos were made as a way in which artist could show their content to an audience when they were not able to preform live it also allowed them to gain more money from publicity, this soon became a means for advertising the artist as it was more easily accessible for the public and much cheaper for the companies to organize a video slot on TV rather than getting funding for a tour.
Secondly the music video became a way of promoting the artists 'image' this was very prevalent within the pop/Teen culture with the birth of MTV in 1981 artist like, Micheal Jackson, Madonna & The iconic Big rock bands of the time (Nirvana, Metallica and Guns & Roses) were able to promote their music & 'image' to the widest audience available since televisions were becoming a much more affordable way for entertainment for the masses.
Next; the image of the artist sparked public following in fashion and merchandise franchises with the pop/Teen culture, artist began appearing in magazines such as Top of the pops, Smash hits & Rolling Stone in a attempt to furthermore influence their persona.
Modern day independent music video
With the influence of cheap affordable video equipment independent filmmakers have been able to collaborate with independent music artist & producers to make music videos without the need for a studio or record label as a means to get music videos made.
With the rise and popularity of online video streaming sites such as YouTube/Vimeo it is easy for independent creative people to showcase their work and gain more of an audience even before they start appearing on tours, TV or local venues.
The artists 'stage' image
Many artist use an image to influence their interest in the mainstream audience most notable Michael Jackson’s skin complexion was the image for the pop king as he was diagnosed with two illnesses which Vitiligo and Lupus both affecting his skin complexion to make it lighter over time soon this became his most noticeable image, the white population became more interested in his music.
Madonna also used this trait of 'image' to power her popularity, first she was very simple and much like any other ordinary person allowing the public to relate to her after she gained her fame she became more of a role model to other people and showed a sort of dominance over others look.
Tyler, the creator has used his past issues in his personal life to portray a dark image to shock the mainstream audience into viewing his feelings and image. He uses his personal issues as a way to resurrect the hip-hop of old by not following the mainstream conceptions of 'a perfect life' as how it's being shown primary today, as he is young he is able to connect with other young people and their personal issues which may be similar to his. He and his music crew OFWGKTA all have different styles and their own specialties often being referred as the new 'WU-tang clan'. Their image as an entirety is the young rebels who don't follow rules which as boosted them into the mainstream publicity view.
The artist may also appear in television shows to appeal more to a particular audience or even a new audience. i.e. Tyler, the creator & other members of OFWGKTA appeared on 'The regular show' a Cartoon Network animated series. Possibly to show his personal style of comedy being very teenaged related.
Madonna has appeared in and directed several movies, her drive for creating new forms of media has made her into a role model for other young women, and her background of personal/family issues helps elevate her success as the public feels more sympathy towards her.
